PULASKI COUNTY, Missouri- A man died Wednesday evening after a single-vehicle crash that may have been caused by a medical emergency  on Highway 28 near St. Robert.

The 48 year-old victim has been identified as Charles M. Kristek from Waynesville. He was life-flighted from the scene to Lake Regional Hospital where he died as a result of the medical condition. He had minor injuries from the crash itself.

“The faculty and staff of East Elementary and the Waynesville R-VI School District are deeply saddened by the passing of Charles Kristek, a member of the district’s assessment team at East Elementary who passed away on Wednesday, April 12,” a statement read. He was also a former city council member.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 in the funeral home.

Mr. Kristek is survived by his wife: LeAnne Kristek of the home; four children: Brennan, Eriq, Catherine and Grace Kristek; parents: Bill and Jane Kristek of Springfield, MO; siblings: Jeffrey Kristek, Lisa Hammaker and Jason Kristek and wife Misty, all of Springfield, MO; parents-in-law: Bill and Pat Ransdall of Waynesville, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles Kristek to his children’s education fund or to the Waynesville R-VI School lunch program and may be left at the funeral home.

Kristek went off the left side of the road in a Chevy Suburban  and hit a fence, a tree, and two mobile homes the Missouri State Highway Patrol says.
