LEBANON, Missouri- A City of Lebanon utility customer is alleging she received a message containing the email addresses of over 1,300 other customers and she says the list is 31 pages long. Other customers said they have gotten similar communications.
She says she fears privacy has been violated, “She (the Utility Operations Manager) sent out an email to utility customers suggesting e-billing, but it did not go out as individual emails. Everyone’s email address is listed. I guess what I’m trying to say is that they should have gone out as “blind copies.” Anyone who uses their own name, or a combination of names has now had their privacy breached. At least they have in my humble opinion,” the customer complained.
We reached out to Mayor Ray and he says he will look into the matter with the city administrator and city clerk when city offices reopen Tuesday.
