FORT LEONARD WOOD, Missouri-  During a government shutdown, General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital on Fort Leonard Wood will continue all inpatient, acute care and emergency operations. Patients will still be able to schedule appointments for most outpatient services. GLWACH and Ozark Clinic do have available appointments, however, based on the specific medical need, new requests for medical care may be scheduled into next week.

Previously scheduled appointments will not be cancelled. Elective surgeries and procedures will be reduced or cancelled during the government shutdown.

Ozark Clinic is open though some civilian providers are furloughed, decreasing the clinic’s capacity. All ancillary services at Ozark Clinic (pharmacy, lab, immunizations) are being referred to GLWACH at this time.

For questions about your appointment or available services, please call the appointment line at (866) 299-4234.

The John B. Mahaffey Museum Complex is closed to the public and for visits during the government shutdown.

All Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation services, which are funded with non-appropriated funds, will continue despite a government shutdown.

Patrons will have use of MWR facilities, to include the Bowling Center, Davidson and Specker Fitness Centers, child care facilities, Outdoor Adventure Center, Leisure Travel, Piney Valley Golf Course, Pershing Community Center, Morelli Heights Bar & Grill, Lake of the Ozarks Recreational Area, and the Auto Skills Center.

Army Community Service is closed during the shutdown though Army Emergency Relief and the Family Advocacy Program will still be available to assist service members who require those services. Please call (573) 596.3154 for AER assistance and (573) 596.0441 for FAP.

Exchange facilities, the ID Card Facility, the Truman Education Center and the Bruce C. Clarke Library will remain open.
