Camdenton, MO – In the early hours of Saturday morning, chaos unfolded at a residence on Westpark Drive in Camdenton, as deputies responded to a series of alarming 911 hang-up calls. The incident resulted in the arrest of 37-year-old Patrick W Long, who now faces serious charges.
Deputies arrived at the scene to find a turbulent situation still unfolding, and it was apparent that Long was at the center of the disturbance. Initially providing authorities with a false name, Long’s true identity was soon discovered during the course of the investigation. Two victims came forward, bravely recounting the horrifying details of the altercation.
As the investigation unfolded, it became clear that Long and one of the female victims had been involved in an ongoing romantic relationship. However, a heated argument had erupted earlier that evening, leaving the woman stranded in Sunrise Beach without transportation. Desperate to return home, she reached out to a friend, who graciously offered her a ride back to the Westpark Drive residence.
To everyone’s surprise, Long arrived at the scene shortly after the women had returned home. Overwhelmed by rage, he forcefully kicked in the front door, his anger barely contained. Without hesitation, he seized one of the victims and violently shoved her into a nearby wall. The situation escalated further as he tightened his hands around her throat, cutting off her air supply and subjecting her to a brutal assault. Repeatedly, his fists landed with ferocity upon her head and face, causing severe injuries.
Following the ordeal, the victim was swiftly transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, ensuring her well-being amidst the trauma she had endured.
In light of the appalling events that unfolded, Long now faces significant charges. He has been charged with the Class B Felony of Assault in the 1st Degree, reflecting the gravity of his actions. Additionally, he faces the Class B Felony of Burglary in the 1st Degree for forcibly entering the residence.
Currently, Long is being held without bond as he awaits his day in court. However, it is important to remember that these charges are allegations of wrongdoing, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The community stands in solidarity with the victims, offering support and encouragement during this difficult time. It serves as a reminder that instances of domestic violence should never be tolerated, and those responsible must be held accountable for their actions.
